Perpetual plaques or awards are a single award that an organization preserves to present to a new recipient each time, but it is the same award. They are rarely given to the recipient to go with unless they know they are to return it. They usually have a section under which the winner of the award for each year is added to the list, with the plaque or trophy put somewhere on display on the premises of the organization.
